Optimizing Models for Image Classification

Feature Engineering and Image Classification with Machine Learning

• Extracted features: edges, colony counts, contrast, area, perimeter.

• Applied Naive Bayes, KNN, Decision Trees, and Deep Learning for classification.

• Calculated colony counts via watershedding and thresholding methods.

• Measured contrast (LBP) and perimeter (Bacterial Foraging Technique).

• Tested multiple morphology classifiers to find best-performing model.
